Intention

Numatic has always manufactured with durability in mind.  Their machines last and they provide extensive spare parts.  With the intention of embeding sustainability more deeply into its product design, manufacturing and supply chain, they embarked on a strategy to generate their own power, switch to recycled materials and bio plastics and calculate and balance their carbon emissions.  

Solution

Numatic began to work with C Level in 2020 with a pilot carbon removal initiative . It has since grown into a deeper relationship encompassing annual bespoke carbon consultancy and large scale carbon removal to balance their emissions across scope 1 and 2 emissions as well as carbon emissions from the disposable bags and pods used in their vacuum cleaners globally.

ENGAGEMENT

Numatic’s sustainability strategy engages their teams and workforce. In February 2026 a multi million pound solar instalation began feeding electricity to its manufacturing plant.  We have seen first hand waste-minimising practices across operations, and ongoing partnerships with suppliers to reduce packaging and switch to new materials. They quietly engineer products to last for decades while carrying spare parts for almost all models ever produced. C level last visited the factory and presented updates to a cross company group from all levels of the business in October 2025.

Numatic needed a partner who could provide not just credits, but a thought leader with scientifically robust, verifiable social and environmental co-benefits that would resonate with its genuine committment to sustainability and circular economy principles.

MILESTONES IN THE RELATIONSHIP

C Level first partnered with Numatic during their 2020 Impact Year. The relationship started when the company began to balance their corporate flights through C Level using our flight calculator.

  • In 2021 we where asked to start work on a bespoke carbon consultancy for the company, to calculate and bring in a carbon removal strategy for all of the disposable bags manufactured and used globally in the Henry vacuum cleaners.
  • The company committed to long term investment in our projects to balance the calculated carbon impact
  • In 2023 the carbon footprint was extended to their new range of disposable pods
  • In 2024 Numatic further expanded their commitment by beginning forward purchasing carbon removals for Numatic Scope 1 and 2 emissions as well as renewing their annual commitment to calculating emissions and balancing all bags and pods.

Direct investment into communities with over 60% of project developer income going into livelihoods and enterprises. Plan Vivo is the only standard to mandate % receipt and control of funds.
