Bugoma to Budongo
The Bugoma to Budongo Forest Corridor is a key biodiversity hotspot. Despite the area facing fragmentation, it is home to the endangered Eastern Chimpanzees and many other endemic species. This community-led restoration project is working to reconnect this wildlife corridor, which covers 12,500ha of tropical rainforest. Benefits include enhanced community rights, strengthened land tenure and forest governance, sustainable livelihoods, improved ecological integrity and climate resilience. This project is a pilot in development phase for Plan Vivo’s new Biodiversity Standard (Plan Vivo Nature).
